English, 19th century walnut campaign desk with flush brass hardware, crossrail and upright mitered and halved joint, decorative brass corner protectors, flush brass handles on either side, with pin on the right side pulls out so the right handle can be pulled out to reveal a long drawer. Interior has green leather writing surface, two hidden compartments for parchment, two open compartments for inkwells, one covered compartment with curved lid to hold pens or pencils, and small compartment with sloped cover. Lock present, but no key. Stand is mahogany, butt jointed, with tapered square legs. 9 1/4" L x 14" W x 6 1/8" H desk, 10 1/3" L x 14 2/3" W x 16 1/4" H stand, 10 1/3" L x 14 2/3" W x 22 1/3" H overall.
